I’m really excited to share this week’s Wednesday Wish List with you! These are all really fun things that my family has truly been enjoying including one of our favorite TV shows, how to preserve family recipes to pass down to your daughter, and how to get your kids to sleep in a house full of teenage boys. And I think all the items are under $20.

For those of you unfamiliar with this series, this is where I talk about anything that makes life easier for me, or anything cool I’ve found, or anything that makes life more enjoyable.

Accent Tile For Shower: 3 Options that Work Well With Subway Tiles

*Yawn*

Time to get back at it. The Mondays after a Sunday are always the hardest! Haha, just kidding. But for real, Mondays after a holiday weekend are hard. So to pep myself up I’m gonna share with you my inspiration/ mood board for my future small master bathroom renovation in keeping with “Moody Mondays”.

And please bear with me and give me a little grace. I use the word “future” loosely. We may be really with it and get it done in the next month. Or maybe in the next year. More than likely the next decade. But, it is on the list and I want to share my plans with you. And although I’ve had these plans for almost 2 years, there’s something about putting it out there that will hopefully hold me accountable and make it happen sooner!

I can’t be the only one who makes all these plans while I’m at work only to come home and think, “What was I thinking? I’m gonna tile a bathroom tonight?? Yeah, right. It’s all I can do to make sure the kids survive and get fed and bathed and stuff.”

The Wednesday Wish List- Things That Have Inspired Me

It’s that time of the week again! And even better, since tomorrow is July 4th, this Wednesday is like a Friday!! Double yay! I really hate that word, btw. It may not seem like it because I think I may use it all the time. But really, what word can you even substitute for that? Deep thoughts here.

My Wednesday Wish List is going to be all over the place today. Inspiration has hit me big time this week and I want to share all the things that have influenced me.

If you’re not familiar with the Wednesday Wish List, you can check out some previous week’s here and here.

1.) Take a break!!

For those of you who read my post yesterday, you know that Jeremy and I had a little mini getaway for the weekend. It astonished me just how big of a difference that weekend made for me. I knew it would be good for me. I knew I needed it. Everything I read said to do it.

But evidently I didn’t know how much I needed it.

All those people that say how important it is? They’re right! I came back renewed and refreshed and ready to take on life. It’s not like it changed me or anything profound like that. But imagine it this way. If life were measured by an enthusiasm scale from 1 to 10, mine before this weekend was hovering around a 3 or 4, probably. Now, I’m not saying my life was terrible or that I was depressed or anything like that. I just mean it felt like life had become so mundane, such a routine. I was like a machine going through the motions.

Best Thrift Stores in Louisville- and the One We Liked The Best!

Jeremy and I just got back from our first ever weekend “getaway” without the kids to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! We were supposed to be going back to the Bahamas which is where we spent our honeymoon. In fact, Jeremy promised me when we were leaving (I kind of threatened to not go to the airport), that we would come back on our 10 year anniversary.

Well, life happened and things didn’t quite turn out that way. Honestly, I think our weekend away in Louisville was just as much fun as a Bahamas trip would have been. We learned that A.) the world doesn’t keep spinning when we’re away from our kids and that B.) maybe even our kids needed that break from us for a few days. Whoa *Mic drop.*

(And a huge thank you to our family who watched our kids for us so that this weekend could happen!!! It takes a village to raise these kids and we are so very, very thankful for every one of you.)

How to Make a Window Seat Cushion+ Step by Step Tutorial!

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliate links. You can read my full disclosure here.

Well, we finally completed one tiny miniscule project off our 20 page list. Window seat cushion is completed! Hooray for progress!

Believe it or not, just the act of figuratively crossing this one project off the to do list has made us feel enpowered and kind of ignited our switch to want to do more.

It’s always hard after baseball season (where we get absolutely nothing house related done), to get back in the swing of things. I think this project may have been just the trick we needed.

So, we finally finished up the window seat cushion for the playroom. I’ve had all the supplies since probably January so I may be a bit rusty on exactly how much I bought and how much it all cost.

While we haven’t revealed a full room shot of the playroom yet, here’s a snippet of it to show you the direction it’s headed.
