DIY Farmhouse Pedestal Coffee Table

How to Transform an Old, Outdated Table into a Pedestal Farmhouse Coffee Table!

Today I’m sharing the DIY farmhouse pedestal coffee table makeover from the round table we found at the thrift store a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be our new coffee table. Other than being too tall, it was the perfect size and scale for our living room upstairs. And, I really had my heart set on a round shape to balance out the sharp edges of our sectional.

*AND*

Dun dun dun (dramatic important announcement here)……I’m so honored to be joining together with 2 other amazingly talented DIY bloggers to share our #Transformation Tuesday projects. Budget Friendly Bathroom Renovation for Resale!

In honor of #throwback thursday, I thought I’d share our budget friendly bathroom renovation from our first home. You’ll have to excuse the terrible pictures and terrible lighting. I had no idea that one day I may actually do the blog that I was picturing in my head, even all those years ago.

I really think the old me would be impressed with the current me. I do wish I could go back in time and tell the old me that cleaning that 1189 square foot home was really no big deal and to stop complaining. Also, to enjoy my Friday nights binge watching Netflix and sleeping in on Saturdays. But, I digress. Back to the matter at hand.

Here’s some before’s to give you an idea of what we were working with.

Small Master Bathroom Renovation- 3 Different Accent Tile Options

*Yawn*

Time to get back at it. The Mondays after a Sunday are always the hardest! Haha, just kidding. But for real, Mondays after a holiday weekend are hard. So to pep myself up I’m gonna share with you my inspiration/ mood board for my future small master bathroom renovation in keeping with “Moody Mondays”.

And please bear with me and give me a little grace. I use the word “future” loosely. We may be really with it and get it done in the next month. Or maybe in the next year. More than likely the next decade. But, it is on the list and I want to share my plans with you. And although I’ve had these plans for almost 2 years, there’s something about putting it out there that will hopefully hold me accountable and make it happen sooner!

I can’t be the only one who makes all these plans while I’m at work only to come home and think, “What was I thinking? I’m gonna tile a bathroom tonight?? Yeah, right. It’s all I can do to make sure the kids survive and get fed and bathed and stuff.”

How to Make a Custom Window Bench Seat for Under $65!

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliate links. You can read my full disclosure here.

Well, we finally completed one tiny miniscule project off our 20 page list. Hooray for progress! Believe it or not, just the act of figuratively crossing this one project off the to do list has made us feel enpowered and kind of ignited our switch to want to do more. It’s always hard after baseball season (where we get absolutely nothing house related done), to get back in the swing of things. I think this custom window seat project may have been just the trick we needed.

So, this week we finally finished up the window seat cushion for the playroom. I’ve had all the supplies since probably January so I may be a bit rusty on exactly how much I bought and how much it all cost.

While we haven’t revealed a full room shot of the playroom yet, here’s a snippet of it to show you the direction it’s headed.

Moody Monday

So, it’s Monday…. I’ll spare you all the thoughts I have on that. Instead, just to pay a little homage to the start of the week, I’m gonna switch things up and have a little fun. I’m trying out something different today that I hope you all enjoy. Let’s call it… Moody Mondays.

Every Monday, I’ll feature a different mood board, either for my home or maybe even someone else’s, with a list of the items that I’ve found and a breakdown of what that mood board would cost if you were to go out and purchase it yourself. This week, I’m talking about the nook off my upstairs living room and what I’m envisioning for this space.

This week’s feature: Our living room nook

The previous owners’ of our home had knocked down a wall between what used to be the living room and dining room to open it all up and make one larger living space. While I love the character and openness this created, it leaves a bit of an awkward layout that I’ve been struggling to design/decorate around.

At one point, when my kids were still in the baby stage, we just solely used this area for function. We threw a little gate over there and made it a playroom of sorts. Design/ beauty/ aesthetics were not a priority at the time. Surviving was.
